From July 29 through the end of August, 100% of profits from sales of the Dreaming Pika tapestry blanket (that's $75 per blanket, after material and shipping costs) will be donated to a fund by the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs to directly aid community members currently impacted by the Bench Fire in Central Oregon. The Bench Fire has destroyed multiple homes and displaced many members of the Warm Springs community, and immediate aid is required for subsistence needs, hotel costs, pet care, and other costs associated with evacuation and eventual rebuilding.

About the design: Pikas spend the summer collecting vegetation, drying it in the sun, and bringing it underground as a food stock for winter. They do not hibernate but spend the cold season below ground, subsisting on their harvest and waiting for the snowpack to recede. When I painted this watercolor illustration of a pika dreaming of clear and beautiful summer days in the Cascade Range, I was definitely thinking about how rare and precious such days are in the face of climate change, and how crucial it is to hold on to hope that easier days will arrive.

These blankets are made in North Carolina and are great as a soft and cozy transitional season blanket or wall hanging.
